• Samsung Expects The Galaxy Note 9 To Outsell Its Predecessor

2 monthes ago - By Android Headlines

The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is expected to outsell its predecessor, the Galaxy Note 8. These predictions are coming from the company's President, Koh Dong-jin , according to The Investor. Now, this may sound a bit odd considering that the company's Q2 operating profit for the IT and mobile business is down 34-percent compared to a year earlier, and industry watchers attributed that to not-so-great sales of the Galaxy S9, but it seems like they're expecting the Galaxy Note 9 to do better than the Galaxy Note 8.
Samsung Mobile President, Koh Dong-jin, on the other hand, said that the Galaxy S9...

The freshly-squeezed Galaxy Note 9 is already strutting its stuff on the pre-order runway, and many of you may have already jumped the gun and clicked the buy button as soon as the phone became available to order. On your way to procuring Samsung's best phone yet, it would be an excellent idea to grab a case for wrapping it in, given the phone's pricing range.
Despite that the Note 9 is covered head to toe in tough Gorilla Glass, the material isn't strong enough to withstand a good, heartfelt meet-up with a slab of concrete. It's also inevitably going to scratch with the ...

Best S Pen apps for the Galaxy Note 9 and the Galaxy Tab S4

2 monthes ago - By Phone Arena

Samsung is probably the only company that's gotten the stylus right on a smartphone. First introduced in 2011, the original Galaxy Note stood out from its competition with its huge 5.3-inch display and, of course, the unique S Pen. Now, seven years later, the big display is not so much a defining feature of the Galaxy Note lineup, but the stylus still is. In fact, the S Pen is what makes a Galaxy Note a Galaxy Note. And if you're looking for something grander, well, Samsung has also successfully incorporated the stylus in various tablets as well, chief among which the recent, ...

The world's first phone with Snapdragon 670 is official, but you can't have it

2 monthes ago - By Phone Arena

There's no question the Galaxy Note 9 is a phenomenal-looking phone with top-notch specifications and a beautifully symmetrical design, but at the same time, it's pretty obvious Samsung fell short of high-end perfection in a number of key areas.
Oppo, one of the mobile industry's fastest-growing manufacturers, already made serious waves a couple of months back with a decidedly innovative albeit fragile “bezelless” design, striking again today by unveiling another remarkable handset.
The R17 is not quite as powerful as the Find X or Samsung Galaxy Note 9, packing however an ...

Samsung Galaxy Note 9 vs Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium: The $1000 Android juggernauts

2 monthes ago - By Phone Arena

Sony put out its big guns earlier this year with a pair of flagships meant to bring back the company to its former glories. The beefier one of the two, the Xperia XZ2 Premium, packs a wallop with its focus on being a multimedia-centric device with its camera capturing abilities, one-of-a-kind 4K HDR-enabled display, and a refreshing new premium design. Meanwhile, the just-announced Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is gunning to show us all why it's arguably the king of the hill in the flagship space. When pricing is at a premium with those two juggernauts, which one should you put your ...

Samsung Galaxy Note 9 vs OnePlus 6: first look

2 monthes ago - By Phone Arena

At one time, pricing clearly dictated what phones were regarded as flagships. Nowadays, however, that perception has changed significantly as flagship smartphones now cover a wide gamut. Take for example the just-announced Samsung Galaxy Note 9, which at $1,000 starting is no doubt a flagship in every capacity. On the other end of the spectrum, there's the $529 OnePlus 6 that's doing amazing things some might not fathom possible with a phone at that price. It's an interesting dynamic, considering how they're both flagships, but in totally opposite ends of the spectrum.

72 hours with Samsung Galaxy Note 9: the camera, battery, and screen

2 monthes ago - By Tech Radar

We've spent 72 hours with the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 , including a weekend full of non-stop testing in preparation for our full Note 9 review. There's a lot to tell you already. We first unboxed new $999 Android phone live on Facebook on Thursday, taking your questions as we set up the device. We then launched the camera app to snap photos with the Bluetooth S Pen as a remote-control trigger. From there, we used the screen in direct sunlight and took notes - copious notes, of course - regarding the battery performance and how quickly the Note 9 recharged. There's certainly more good than...

Samsung 'hopes' for strong Galaxy Note 9 sales, disputing Galaxy S9 flop claims

2 monthes ago - By Phone Arena

It may feel like all those pre-release Galaxy Note 9 rumors were right on the money now that the phone has gone official with the expected design and specifications, but there's actually one piece of gossip that Samsung is trying to disprove.
Koh Dong-Jin, the company's co-CEO and President of the Mobile Communications division, “hopes” the Note 9 will be able to “outpace” its predecessor in terms of sales numbers, which of course, is not the same thing as setting a specific goal.
But Koh definitely seems to believe in the box office potential of the latest flagship device, ...
