    IOS 12 now running on 50% of Apple devices, 53% of compatible devices, and that's before the Emoji surge update hits.
    Yeah, you laugh, but emoji are one of the biggest update drivers, because people are people, and those aren't coming until iOS 12.1, a little later this fall. Meanwhile, iOS 12 has hit 50% in less than a month in public release. iOS 11 is down to 39%, all other previous versions a combined 7%. And that's counting any 32-bit devices that simply can't run iOS 12.

    Mixpanel reported that Apple had crossed the magic 50% milestone for iOS 12 at the weekend, and now Apple has released its first usage numbers which are based off visits to the App Store.
    Apple says 50% of all devices are running iOS 12, and 53% of devices introduced within the last four years. This four year timespan metric is new, and it means that it only counts devices launched since September 2014 .
